Day 2 - My Tho
It was a wet weather day, with floods on most roads. It took us almost 3 hrs to 'battle' the rain before we arrive at this Restaurant for a 8-course lunch. We had the deep fried spring roll as well as the self-rolled rice paper roll. The fish is the specialty - deep fried elephant ear fish. The golden ball that u see above impressed me most. The waitress cut the crispy golden ball and served it with the sticky glutinous rice that was found at the base of the ball. The taste was great! It can also go with the grilled pork in special sauce. I miss the taste of the crispy golden ball with the sticky glutinous rice. Dun think I can find this in Spore.
The seafood served were fresh - prawns, fish.
While leaving the Restaurant, we chanced upon their locals who ordered this interesting prawns that were cooked 'live' in a coconut (below).
Day 1 - Tea cum Dinner cum Supper
Dinner was a healthy choice of pho with lots of green (above) and grilled pork in sauce soup (below). The pho was served by weight. The pork looked drenched in oily sauce, but the sauce was tasty and not oily.

After some brisk walking & window shopping, we decided to drop by the popular bakery cafe - Tous Les Jours - for some delicious pasteries - walnut cheesy bun, apple bun and tiramisu.
Having tasted the delicious pasteries, our next destination was Quan An Ngon, located at 138 Nam KY Khoi Nghia, D1. This Viet Restaurant is highly reputable with tourists as well as the locals. As we were there after 9pm, most of the food on the menu were sold out, except beef items. Sigh.... We only sampled the prawn pho (above) and the rice cake with chicken wing (below) This completed our Day 1 meals.
