As we were not hungry and were looking forward to our spa treatment, we decided to go easy on lunch.
- steam cod fish dumpling
Fois gras dumpling soup - quite a creative tim sum. However, could not draw out the taste of the fois gras. Maybe it's asian fois gras?? :)
Crispy suckling pig noodle in Lobster stock. There was choice of other roasted meats besides the sucking meat, with the noodle.
Day 2 Lunch @ Amarin Thai @ Mid Valley
We could not decide what to have for lunch as there were too many choices. We decided to have a 6-course set with free flow of ice lemon tea. The service was impressive as well as the setting of the restaurant. We started with the assorted appetitisers which comprised of 5 types- spring roll, prawn roll, money bag, thai fish cake and another type of fish cake.
Piping hot clear tom yum soup was next. We were expecting the 'potent' clear soup that would be spicy hot, but we still could cope with the spiciness.
The steam fish was impressive with the various spices that they used and it was fresh too.
There were too many dishes to distract us - vegetables, seafood with egg
Finally, the set lunch ended with an assortment of Thai dessert. There was a choice of mango sticky rice, steamed tapioca and bananas. Each tasted great with the coconut milk which was very fresh. The staffs were generous to give us extra servings of the coconut milk as well as topping up our free flow of ice lemon tea. The homemade ice lemon tea was refreshing and citrus that it can help in digesting the heavy lunch that we had. We enjoyed the food at Amarin very much and were impressed by their service too. We will visit the Thai restaurant again if we travel to KL Mid Valley.
